Responsibilities:
-Responsible for leading the entire organization in a way that achieves operational, tactical, and strategic goals, while ensuring the long-term viability of the organization.
-Accountable for the strategic direction of the organization, providing clear guidance with a balanced assessment of the risks involved for all relevant stakeholders, including customers, shareholders, employees, and the general public in Curaçao.
-Responsible for driving strategic innovation and continuous improvement to elevate the organization’s performance, enhance the reliability of the energy supply, and make Curaçao’s water and energy systems more sustainable.
-Serves as the Chair person of the Executive Board: chairs board meetings, manages the decision-making process, ensures the efficient functioning of the executive team, and acts as a liaison between the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board.
Profile of the Suitable Candidate:
-Completed (post-)academic education in technical and/or business fields, such as Energy, Business Administration, Engineering, or similar disciplines.
-At least 7 years of leadership experience in a management position, with at least 5 years in an executive role, preferably with knowledge and experience in the energy and water industries.
-Strong interest and experience in long-term vision for renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, hydro, ocean energy, etc.
-Strong knowledge and experience in politics and public administration, public-private relationships, the public role of the company, and corporate governance.
-Excellent knowledge and experience in strategy, innovation, managing transitions, complex negotiations, project management, asset management, and long-term investments.
